I have been juicing and eating healthy since Oct. 1. I just got my fasting labs back and my Hemoglobin A1C ( diabetes) has gone down to 6.2 from 6.8 in late Sept. Triglycerides ( cholesterol ) is 161 down from 336 in late Sept. These are the best numbers I have ever had! So grateful to Doreen for teaching me about juicing and eating healthy in a way that tastes good. I also have so much more energy. Very grateful! I have also lost 36 lbs! So grateful to Doreen and Juice With Us for learning about juicing and healthy eating. I also want to add this is the 1st time in 5 years I have not gotten sick over the winter. My husband was killed in a marine accident 23 years ago. It was a tough time in my life…I was depressed, used food for comfort, and soon food became my addiction. I gained weight and became obese, tired, and achy, with several health issues. I would at times try to lose weight, with little success, but ultimately would put it back on.
Juicing became part of my healing process when my doctor almost two years ago told me I was in jeopardy of becoming a diabetic and that my lab numbers were excessively high. I was returning to see my doctor after one year of not making any changes and knew I needed a game plan. I heard about juicing from a couple of Face Book friends who were posting about it and decided to do some research. I was blessed and motivated by watching a couple of inspirational documentaries Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead and Fork Over Knives. I tried juicing in late March of 2013 and spoke to my doctor about juicing at my appointment in April and she encouraged me. I then began juicing seriously. My high numbers were taken on 4/2 with my blood pressure 145/93, glucose 111, ALT liver function 44, and total cholesterol 225. Three months later my BP 122/74, glucose 99, ALT liver function 20, and total cholesterol 210; all normal, but stubborn cholesterol that my doctor warned would be the most challenging because of genetics. I’m targeting juicing recipes for cholesterol and my goal is 200.
I have loss 85 lbs. Additional benefits I’ve experienced: Energy, feeling great, clear skin and people telling me I’m glowing and look 10 years younger.

In addition, to juicing 2-3 times per day, I eat organic whole foods, mostly plant based meals at lunch and dinner. I also eat meat, poultry, or fish 2-3 times a week. I definitely buy certified organic grass fed meat, certified organic free-range chicken, and wild caught fish. Of course along with healthy eating I incorporate exercise. I walk 2-3 miles 6 days a week and work out with light weights every other day.

Before I realized it, my entire life style had changed and I had a positive outlook on life. I am committed to sharing my story and helping others. I have a driven life promise and I’m directed in a new path for a healthy life style, conscience of what I eat and grateful everyday.
